Blue Door Barns is lucky enough to have the hugely experienced facialist Stephanie Slade on board, who trained with Dr Hauschka, and has developed her own style of facial which is absolutely unique to the individual client. She combines skin analysis with an understanding of what the overall body needs from a holistic perspective, to perform a facial ritual designed to restore, renew and rejuvenate. This combines the application of her own organic products with various techniques including lymphatic drainage massage, head massage and Reiki. Choose from a 55 minute facial or the ultimate luxury 75 minute treatment which incorporates longer massage and reflexology.
This western style of massage is the most common and combines various hand techniques including gliding, kneading and cross fibre friction which helps shift those knots! You can choose for this to be slow and gentle, or more vigorous.
A type of massage which combines traditional hands-on techniques with the use of specific aromatherapy oils designed to help either de-stress, energise, calm or lift a low mood. Your therapist will discuss which oils are best for you dependent on how you feel.
A deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints) and is beneficial if you have specific stiffness or pain.
Sports massage works deep in the muscles, realigning the muscle fibres and connective tissue, and flushing away the toxins. Regular sessions will increase joint mobility and flexibility, and reduce the risk of injury during exercise. The sports massage was originally developed to help athletes prepare or recover from sporting events but can be beneficial for anyone active who wishes to prevent or heal injuries to the muscles and tendons.
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage by a highly trained therapist which was originally created by the Native Americans. This is a deeply relaxing, some say spiritual, experience which also helps to warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly. The treatment starts with a Swedish massage to warm up the body and then the therapist uses the soothing, warm stones as an extension of her hands, as well as leaving them along the spine to improve the flow of energy on your body.
A revolutionary new treatment which perfectly lifts, curls and then tints* the lashes for a lustrous look, lasting for up to eight weeks. Much less damaging than lash extensions but with a similar effect (as the lash is lifted from the root), this hour long treatment also includes scalp and shoulder massage. So whilst your lashes magically transform, we pamper and relax you. *15 minute patch test required but can be done on the day.
Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients to promote better health for their clients. The treatment can be tailored around specific client concerns or as an overall aid to destress and relax the body and mind.
